Blackguards 2 kill marwan or not series#
Not that there is really any major difference to both ways - each offers a series of hex-based tactical RPG battles.Īnd as turn-based RPG battles go, Blackguards does a pretty decent job. Whereas the original game had you moving from adventure site to adventure site exploring the tale of the game, each site in Blackguards 2 sees you moving your force to capture more territory. He's the Kyrios (which is Blackguards talk for king), and after escaping from his dungeon after some kind of tiff she grabs a few companions, busts an army of mercenaries out of jail, and just kind of declares war. The hero of this game, one Cassia Corapia, is the scorned wife of the arch-villain Marwan.

Other than your protagonist, the whole supporting cast return - all lowered back down to low level thanks to hand-wave magic, of course - and everything is the same. See the theme here? Just go read the Blackguards review, and perhaps more than almost any other sequel I've reviewed, Blackguards 2 is just a continuation of the first one, even down to the fiddly highlighting and annoying blundering into traps. Just the same as I thought about Blackguards. The simplicity of Blackguards 2 is one of the things I appreciate about it, but it also feels like there was room for more development outside of combat. That said, I don't like the overly simplified world map that is little more than a simplistic web of adventure sites, some of which are technically towns - which means little more than a couple of weapons shops and very occasionally a chance for another combat encounter. I liked them in the original Blackguards and I continue to like them in Blackguards 2. They bring a true layer of professionalism and character to the dialogue and bring the characters to life. I like the voice actors they've used in the Blackguards series.
